True Promise by Tetherlink Consulting

Agribusiness resilience is anchored in quality seeds and superior genetics! 🐏

We are thrilled to announce the successful rollout of Project True Promise! Our team at Tetherlink Consulting proudly supplied 4 Pedigree Dorper breeding rams to four dedicated self-help groups running sheep enterprises across Laikipia County, with the handover held in Rumuruti Town on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.

Power in Partnership

This milestone was made possible through our collaboration with the Food Systems Resilience Program (FSRP), the Community Driven Development Committee (CDDC) of Rumuruti Township Ward, and the Laikipia County Project Coordinating Unit (CPCU).

Empowering Local Dorper Sheep Farmers

Empowering Local Dorper Sheep Farmers

To ensure maximum community uplift, these rams will be housed at lead farmers’ farms, granting every group member full access for breeding. We were proud to support the following groups:

  • Mwangaza Mbuzi (Mutamaiyu)
  • Ndurumo Sheep Value Chain (Ndurumo)
  • Koitabai Welfare Group (Lorien)
  • Kahari Women SHG (Rumuruti)

Verified Quality Dorper Genetics ✅

Quality is our priority. Before the handover, all 4 rams were thoroughly inspected and approved by Livestock Production Officers from the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (County Government of Laikipia).

Strategic Impact

These rams will completely transform the beneficiaries’ Dorper flocks, guaranteeing:

  • Heavier carcasses
  • Faster growth rates
  • Wider profit margins

Thanksgiving and Way Forward

The reception from the community was truly humbling, filled with genuine gratitude and a renewed sense of hope for the future of their flocks. The farmers expressed deep thanksgiving for the support, recognizing the immediate value these animals will bring to their livelihoods. Capturing the collective joy of all the beneficiaries, one of the lead farmers stepped forward with a heartfelt promise, stating,

“Ahsanteni Sana, and we will take care of the rams.”

It is this profound dedication and community spirit that drives our mission forward.

We dubbed this initiative ‘True Promise’ to affirm that we intend to make good on our guarantee of superior genetics, sustainable community uplift, and strategic agribusiness impact.
